Oldtimer Forgot to Look at the Scale
There are Oldtimers in any work environment, right? Whoever has been there longest is “the Oldtimer”. At Skinny Up!®, I’m that person. So, before we go any further, let’s reiterate, the Oldtimers is not the oldest person there. The Oldtimer has simply been there longer than anyone else, and could be reasonably expected to be quite knowledgeable about the products and procedure. So that brings us to this blog. Being the Oldtimer, I certainly know the value of keeping in constant contact with my good friend, the bathroom scale. This relationship is a very integral element in the goal of sustaining the wonderful body weight a person achieves by the end of his or her Skinny Up!® transformation. Throughout the Skinny Up!® protocol you are encouraged to look at that bathroom scale every single morning of this life-changing process. I should know. I’m one of the ones encouraging you. I’m the Oldtimer. Once you complete your Skinny Up!® protocol, you are encouraged to continue looking at your bathroom scale every single morning for the rest of your life. It’s easy to do. You made it a habit during the protocol. In fact, every morning during the protocol you woke up early, a bit groggy… and then remembered that you were doing the Skinny Up!® protocol! As enthusiasm filled you, you hustled to the scale to find out the incredible news it had to tell you that particular morning… Another pound off! Another two pounds off! The bathroom scale quickly became your new best friend. “Someone” you wanted to visit with every single morning. “Someone” who always had good news for you. We encourage folks to keep checking that scale on a daily basis so that if “life” happens, as it tends to and you let your summer-fun-eating or holiday-fun-eating or something-bad-happened-and-I’m-getting-comfort-from-not-healthy-food-eating or just-plain-old-excess-eating get out of control, you will observe the consequences on the scale before it is a ten or fifteen pound problem. And you’ll act before the issue grows bigger. (pun intended) I know this. And yet… I’ve just enjoyed a fast-paced summer. We worked a lot, which meant we had to play hard and fast to get all the summer fun in around our work hours. And for some reason, I failed to check in with my good friend, the bathroom scale. Not even once in the last six months. My, my. Imagine my surprise when I hopped on the scale a couple weeks ago and saw the “ten- or fifteen-pound problem”. I know I was enjoying summer-fun-eating, but sheesh I didn’t realize I was so good at that. The great news is that I know exactly what to do. (Because I’m the Oldtimer!) I’m about to embark on a new round of the Skinny Up!® protocol. I’ll renew the relationship with my friend, the bathroom scale. The friend that is always honest and holds me accountable. And once my protocol is done, I’ll maintain that friendship with this friend that keeps me accountable. More great news is that this is the perfect time of year to engage in weight loss and detox. I don’t have any major holidays looming or big vacations planned in the next several weeks, so I won’t be tempted to cheat big at any major feasts or celebrations… Old-Timers mess up every now and then, and don’t follow the best course of action they’ve been encouraging everyone else to follow. But! Old-Timers do know enough to fix the problem and get back on track. If you find yourself in need of “getting back on track” with your weight and health, take it from this Oldtimer: Now is the perfect time to face the music (a.k.a. read the scale) and fix the issue. I’m with you. You are worth it.
